Six - Live Long and Prosper

We celebrated Gracie's birthday at Grandma's house with a Spock Star Trek cake. She was so proud of it. Six years old!

Ethan had his mohawk dyed blue. Here are some shots of him outside of Grandma's house during Gracie's birthday party.

PUMP IT UP - For Two!

Last year, Alex had his tenth birthday party at PUMP IT UP!, an inflatable wonderland perfect for entertaining large numbers on hyper children for two hours. This year, both Gracie and Alex wanted to have their parties at PUMP IT UP, so for the first time, we held a joint kid birthday party for them. It turned out great - kids and parents alike enjoyed the party. No clean up either! And, I let the PUMP IT UP gang supply the cake. Easy.

Eleven

We celebrated Alex's 11th birthday today. Every year since age three, Alex has had very strong opinions about what kind of cake he wanted me to make for him. This year he said "surprise me." So I had the opportunity to choose a theme myself! For 11, I felt that 007, James Bond, was the right choice. Happy Birthday to Alex!

Gracie's First Day of Soccer

Team Morocco! Gracie went to her first soccer practice today. She was a grumpy girl before heading there, but did well in the end. She likes to play goalie!

Goodbye Tooth!

Gracie lost her first tooth. She was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but in the end she was a proud girl!

New Haircut

I have a bunch of other things to update on the blog (it was a busy 2nd half of May!) but I had to post these pictures of our Gracie and her new haircut. She has been wanting a cut just like a boy for a long time, so we relented and took her in yesterday evening. We were going for a "pixie" cut, which is a cute short girl cut, but I think we wound up with straight-up boy. Gracie is thrilled. In fact, along with her new boy shoes, she's sporting an all boy look and proud of it. At dinner, she asked us all to call her John. That's where I drew the line, though. She'll always be my Gracie Girl. What a cutie!
